Resonator and Slide Guitars - Steels and ... Ukes
UK - 0003 1920's Fancy No Name Banjo Uke
EXC + What a cutie this is. And it is in splendid condition. The fancy
cutouts in the metal clad
rim are exquisite and there is a big
metal tone ring that gives it a big but
mellow tone. The two tiny screw holes in the head stock
and the oval shadow indicate that there was once an oval placque residing there as is typical of British instruments.
The original tuning pegs have a screw
adjustment that allows quick and slip proof tuning. The
mahogany resonator has a large knurled
screw for quick easy removal.
Some fancy inlays on the fingerboard.
Original bridge and tailpiece . Cool old
hardshell
case with original ribbon hinges still intact!
Rim = 7 1/2" Scale Length = 13 1/4" Nut Width = 1 1/4".
Price: $1350.00
KA - 0001 1934 Kay Wood
Amplifying Guitar EXC Extremely rare all
original example from the earliest years of the Kay Musical Instrument
Company in Chicago. It's in beautiful condition and has a great woody
'resonant' sound just picked and really comes alive when you slide that
bottleneck onto it. The
top has a sunburst bound wooden coverplate under which is a
wooden resonating
chamber with a trough that 'feeds' the sound upward to the dual grille
holes. It's a big guitar with a 15 3/4" lower bout and a 25 3/4" scale
length. Nut width is 1 23/32". It is bound top, back and neck and it's
sunburst all over, including the
top and back as well as
the sides and the back of the neck. It sports the patented Stromberg-
Voisinette neck angle
adjuster mechanism that actually allows you to change the neck
angle without steam and glue and all the messy stuff. It has it's
original tuning pegs and
the headstock logo is in
beautiful shape. It has been recently set up John Knutson and is
in fine fettle. This is only the second one of these I've ever seen and
it is an exceptional specimen.
No case but we'll ship securely.
Price: $3250.00
