ca.1914 Shutt Mandolin
Original Excellent Condition
# 3 (imprinted on the heel)
While this slope shouldered body style is less flamboyant than the two point model,
it has more ornate appointments. The body is triple bound front and back.
The fingerboard is also triple bound with fancy inlay and even the
headstock is triple bound and also inlaid. The tailpiece and
tuning peg cover are engraved.
Also unusual is the flame maple back whereas all other Shutt instruments
I've seen have the flame sycamore backs.
This is the best sounding Shutt I've played.
